Laserod provides precision laser marking micromachining in a laser job shop with system integration. We scribe, etch, serialize, drill, mark, and cut thin metals and ceramics, trim resistors, and process plastics, silicon, diamond, and graphite with tolerances to one micron

High Precision UV Laser Marking

Laserod provides precision laser serializing, stenciling, and marking for any application. Our laser marking is permanent, fast, inexpensive, and very high quality. Character heights can be microscopic or readily visible -- whichever your needs dictate.  Typical applications for laser serializing, stenciling, and marking include permanent marking of words, logos, barcodes, 2D matrix and lot code numbering.

Laser marking has many advantages including:

  • High precision--10 micron laser spot size
  • Very fast writing rate--1m/sec
  • Permanent
  • Made by pure energy so no chemical contamination
  • Inaccessible places are easily reached
  • DXF download of simple or complex images

The quality of our precision serializing, stenciling, and marking is evident in our work. Notable characteristics of our work include:

  • character heights from 0.5-10 mm
  • typical mark width is 0.4 to 2 mils
  • materials: metals, ceramics, silicon, stainless steel, copper, anodized or coated aluminum
  • deep marks to .003" (or more)
  • IR Laser Marking is also available.

At Laserod, we are experts in laser marking and etching.  We have perfected both alphanumeric and image marking.  Our precision laser serializing, stenciling, and marking services include:

Printed Circuit Board (Semiconductor) Marking
The Laserod team are experts at marking on printed circuit boards. Such applications include microelectronic circuits and biomedical devices.

Outline laser marking increases readability.

PCB Laser Marking

This figure shows an example of an outline mark on a printed circuit board substrate.

Outline Marks
Outline marking is a method of rendering laser marks more readily visible.  Because laser writing speed is so fast, the added time and expense are not consequential.

Laser Scribes an Outline

This figure shows an outline mark.  Character height is 0.075mm.  (This is an enlarged view of the previous figure.)

Deep Marks
Deep marks to .003 are one of our areas of distinction.  One purpose of deep marking is so the mark will survive subsequent processing.

Deep Laser Marking

This figure shows a fairly typical example of our work.  It is a marking on 0.1" stainless steel tubing.  Character height is 30 mils.  Note:  this is a curved surface, adding to the complexity of the marking operation.

Image Marking
In addition to alphanumeric marking as described above, Laserod also provides image marking.  Image marking can be done on both flat and curved surfaces. Typical applications of image marking include bar coding, micro images, corporate logos, and identification matrices.

Laser Image Marking, known as a matrix mark.

Laser Matrix Image Marking

This figure illustrates two dimensional (2D) matrix image marking whereby images can be etched on a thin coat of metal on top of a substrate.

Contact Us Today

You may call us, fax us or e-mail your requirements. If you fax us a sketch or e-mail a dxf or dwg file, we can fax you a quotation. In most cases you supply us the material. We will quote on a turnkey basis, should you desire. Prototypes are welcome! We sell systems as well as offering a laser processing service.

We look forward to working with you.
